Locche compiled a remarkable 117-4-14 record from 1958 to 1976 with just 14 knockouts. He first became champion in 1968 in the most Locche way possible when WBA Light Welterweight Champion Takeshi Fuji refused to come out for the 10th round because of his frustration over being unable to hit "The Untouchable."
Locche became a major draw Buenos Aires not because of his all action fights but rather because he'd stand in front of opponents with his hands at his sides, daring to be hit.
Before becoming champion, Locche fought Hall of Famers Ismael Laguna, Carlos Ortiz and Eddie Perkins. He had draws with Laguna and Ortiz and defeated Perkins.

After winning the title, he defended it six times. His signature win was against future champion and Hall of Famer Antonio Cervantes in 1971, winning comfortably on all three cards. Finally, Locche lost the title to Alfonso Frazier in 1972. In 1973, he tried to regain it in a rematch with Cervantes, but Cervantes dominated throughout and Locche failed to come out for the 10th round.
Locche retired for a couple of years. He launched a comeback in 1975 and won an additional seven fights against journeymen before retiring for good.
